I am delighted that I was introduced to ManagersPitStop. I have held leadership positions for a number of years and felt confident in many of my abilities. However, taking on a new role as a head of department offered me new challenges, such as interviewing staff, setting clear deadlines and ensuring my team work effectively. There were a number of new areas of management that I knew I could benefit from learning and learning them quickly was essential! The site is easy to dip into but also allows for more in-depth work through the attachments. The site immediately grabbed my attention because it allowed me to work on a specific area where I felt I needed new ideas and support. The tutorials are quite short, so I didn't need to invest a vast amount of time sitting at my computer, but I was able to process the concepts, reflect on my learning and evaluate my own methods of management. For me, this has been one of the best aspects of the site since I have an excellent mentor to work with. I was able to utilize a ManagersPitStop tutorial as a spring board for deeper discussions during mentoring. I believe my communication and delegation skills to be my strongest managerial areas, and I have spent much time teaching about self esteem. The tutorials on these subjects were still of interest because they affirmed my self confidence as well as my understanding of these topics. There were still a few items in the attachments that were new to me that I have been able to add to my skills set. MangersPitStop is more interactive than reading a management book, less time consuming and expensive than attending a managerial seminar.
